Mysterious death of former chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a chopper crash once again is haunting the ruling Congress as well opposition Telugu Desam.
Politics is a ruthless power game. If you do not want to get dethroned, you must eliminate your rivals. It is the real maxim of ‘power politics’. Let none have any doubts on the above score.
None can deny that late Dr YSR had emerged as the tallest leader of Andhra Pradesh by endearing himself to the poorest of the poor and the farmers. His charisma and influence over the “Am Admi’ overawed quite a few political charlatans or courtiers or coterie of Sonia Gandhi.
So, it was common speculation that late Dr YSR may emerge as the challenger to Rahul Gandhi’s ambition to get crowned as the Prime Minister. No wonder, late Dr YSR had to make a public statement absolving and distancing himself such mischievous rumours by going public with his intention to make “Rahul Gandhi as the PM after 2014 elections.
It is also an established fact that every one at the Centre attempted to dissuade him from executing pro-poor and farmer-friendly policies as they are not sustainable financially. Yet, late YSR went ahead with his pro poor campaign. At the same time, none can deny that he helped big corporate houses to set up businesses as part of development programs. Majority today are aware, accept and appreciate Robin-hood stories of ‘loot the rich and feed the poor’ policy, which is even acceptable to the most dreaded left-wing extremists.
While the Congress high command (especially Sonia Gandhi) was unable to digest the emergence of a strongest mass leader in the south within the party, even the TDP almost lost hopes of bouncing back to power in the state.
Its reason is simple. YSR won over the poorest of the poor and the famers by his pro-poor and pro-farmer policies. He emerged as ‘saviour’ who provided succor to them.
Viewed in the above framework of developments, there is every reason to suspect the ‘match-fixing” rumours between the Congress Party and the Opposition Telugu Desam or the conspiracy to eliminate the most powerful mass leader the state ever had produced since its formation.
Even the TDP, which also suffered with the loss of its most charismatic and ‘vote catching’ leader like N T Ramarao, is also hell bent upon putting to rest the chances of Jagan from emerging as a pro poor leader in the footsteps of his father.
Convergence of political interests between the Congress Party and the Telugu Desam should glaringly be obvious even to a layman. “Jagan” like “Abhimanyu” has been under all-round seize by “Chakravyuha” and sent to jail during the campaigning period. How else one can read the current developments?
Chandra Babu Naidu is also a former Congressman in the ‘Yellow Garb”. He is a veteran of politics having proved himself as a turncoat. If Congress High Command offers leadership to him, surely he will grab it. Once “Aya Ram”, “Gaya Ram” is not a major shift to make. It would be a ‘quid pro quo’ arrangement based on his support to Rahul Gandhi. After all, everything is a possibility in politics.
Coming back to Sonia and her lobbyists, they felt serious threat from YSR as he literally called shots as he could send as many as 33 MPs which constitutes the mainstay of the Congress in the UPA alliance.
Thus far, YSR had become a ‘thorn’ in the flesh of both Sonia Gandhi as well the TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
I, as a political analyst dare say with conviction that YSR, perhaps, the first Chief Minister to tell Madam Gandhi that he would take the blame if the party fails to bounce back in the polls. The only other gutsy leader who made similar statement was the BJP leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to his senior colleagues during last elections.
To be very frank, perhaps Sonia and her coterie too had no belief that their party will bounce back to power in the state as well at the Centre. In a bid to mobilize huge funds to fight polls, Sonia and the UPA government headed Dr Manmohan Singh deliberately blinked to financial hara-kiri that was taking place right under their nose in Andhra Pradesh.
Was it not because YSR had sent tons of money that he might have mobilized through land allotments or ‘Jalayagnam’ or any other so called expensive projects? Is it not a fact that it was YSR’s then trusted soldier and so called advisor of Cabinet rank, Dr K V V P Ramachander Rao ‘ferried’ money bags (read loot) to 10 Janpath, the official residence of Madam Sonia Gandhi? Can anyone dare deny that among the beneficiaries are also the names like Veerappa Moily, Ghulam Nabi Azad and other host of leaders, who formed then her coterie?
As YSR had over grown politically and emerged as most ‘popular leader’ that the state had ever produced (NTR being the only exception, who rode more on his yesteryear cinema charisma, rather than as a strong political leader). This is not acceptable to any Congress President of the day. There were instances wherein some such popular leaders were eliminated during Mrs Indira Gandhi and now under Sonia’s leadership. Whether she is directly involved or not may be debatable, but certainly her actions based on the advice of her hand picked coterie, who feel more threatened of such leaders emerging either in state or national politics within the party.
Having provided the backdrop to establish strong suspicion (like the one the premier CBI had built up against Jagan in the alleged disproportionate assets case) that YSR death in chopper crash is not an accident, but certainly a ‘conspiracy’ being hatched by none other than the Congress party high command conniving with the major Opposition party like TDP. Even the way the probe was conducted is too suspicious in spite of apprehensions expressed in several quarters. Your website in fact had reacted strongly and raised many questions including;
- Who had given clearance to YSR to fly the ‘misfit’ chopper, as it was kept unused for more than 3-6 months without checking whether it was overhauled or not?
-
- Who allowed though high-profile, yet unhealthy person to fly the chopper?
-
- Why the CBI did not question whether the police boss office had instructed the concerned district police chiefs to monitor the VVIP chopper flying over their respective districts and report back, which is mandatory?
- Before the crash what has happened within the aircraft – what was the pilot’s reaction and so the Chief Minister? What are the arguments and counter arguments that taken place between the pilot and the chief minister as well his security staff?
- Was it not fact that the pilot, who was specially engaged by the conspirators to forcibly crash the chopper threatened to jump out of it and YSR held him by his collar. When the pilot dare to go ahead to excute the conspirators plan, YSR’s security chief opened fire at the pilot, although knowing fully the crash becoming imminent, if not inescapable?
-
- Is not a fact that people residing in and around Pavuralagutta heard of some gun-fire before the chopper crash. (All this was reported in a section of newspapers then)
- Why TDP refused to raise doubts and named people like in case their most dreaded criminal and former minister Paritala Ravi was assassinated allegedly by his rivals in the district. (The TDP chief, forgetting that he had ruled the state for nine long years, unabashedly even leveled baseless charges against an upright senior police officer, who was then IG of Rayalaseema region). Shouldn’t be suspected as ‘conspirator’ of the crime with such background? What benefit the TDP chief reaped for maintaining ‘silence’? Firm assurance from the Congress high command to go ‘slow’ on all pending cases in the courts or by CBI!
But, who is the chief conspirator of this conspiracy. None should have any doubts in their minds to name and accept Dr K V V P Ramachander Rao, who acted ‘heart and soul’ of late YSR. Only a lie-detector test on him alone bring the truth before the nation of ‘omissions and commissions’ of the later leader, the Congress high command as well turning a foe like TDP into friends fold.
Even while dealing with Jagan’s DA cases conclusively, the CBI and ED should also take congnizance of doubts expressed by opposition leaders as well others, and begin investigations as well raids on 10 Janpath, where Soni Gandhi lives, also the Rahul’s Delhi resident as well her daughter and son-in-law’s houses to unravel how much benefits they reaped from its party ruled states as well from international firms in infamous scams like 2-G Spectrum, Tectra defence truck deal, Common Wealth Games scam, besides Bofors and submarine guns deals in the past.
It is also time for people all over the country to revolt in unison like in Egypt and spearhead their fight against the Nehru clan and get the country rid of Sonia’s misrule. Let us hope, that day is not far off and Indians will rise to the occasion to launch second ‘freedom struggle’ against ‘foreign origin’ rulers like Sonia Gandhi. Why not we strengthen hands of social activist like Anna Hazare to lead us?
