JAC to pick TRS or BJP based on Parkal survey report

Karimnagar: Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Tuesday said that the JAC was conducting a survey in Parkal Assembly constituency to decide about the party it should support in the by-elections.

Talking to media persons, Kodandaram said that the JAC would either support the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or Bharatiya Janata Party based on the survey report. After the declaration of by-election results, he said that the JAC would intensify its agitation for the separate Telangana statehood.

'The agitation for statehood will be intensified if the Centre fails to announce a favourable decision within three months,' he said.

Kondandaram accused the State Government of neglecting the quarry and granite mining in Telangana areas. He appealed to government to apply the same conditions imposed on lease of sand mining in the State on quarry and granite mining.

The JAC chairman also demanded that the government scrap the tenders for the construction of Polavaram irrigation project as its design would affect hundreds of villages in the region.
