'Publicise panel reports on YSR's chopper crash'

Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Friday demanded that the state government immediately publicise the reports of the expert committees that probed into the helicopter crash, in which the then Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was killed on September 2, 2009.

The TDP found fault with both the Congress and the YSR Congress for indulging in a slanging match over the chopper incident and trying to create a confusion among people on the death of the Chief Minister. "The government should order a fresh investigation by the CBI into the allegations and counter-allegations between Congress and YSR Congress leaders on the chopper incident. It is the responsibility of the government to bring out the facts," Leader of Opposition in the AP Legislative Council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao demanded here Friday.

Both Congress and YSR Congress were playing "cheap politics" over YSR's death and making irresponsible claims.

"After Jagan's arrest, Y S Vijaya has been saying she has doubts over her husband's death and that she has suspicion on some Congress leaders. On the other hand, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana suspects if YSR's family members themselves were behind the incident.

Despite being in responsible positions, these leaders have been speaking irresponsibly only for the sake of votes," Dadi lashed out. The TDP senior leader pointed out that Vijaya never raised any doubts over her husband's death after the chopper crash. "Did Botsa come to suspect YSR family's role only now," he wondered.

In light of all this, the government should immediately publicise the reports of the expert committees and order a fresh probe by the CBI into the allegations and counter-allegations, Dadi demanded.
